About

You have found the blog of the ‘Life is Beautiful’ redwork/applique BOM project. Here you will find helpful step by step tutorials on the techniques used in the project – great for those who prefer to ‘see’ rather than ‘read’ or just to supplement your pattern instructions.

We will also be adding free downloadable files of pages, graphics and ideas to print, personalise and complete for your own personal journal.

Ideas for covering your journal will also be added.

Please come back often or add us to your bloglines so you don’t miss out on anything. We’d also love to see how you are going from time to time, leave a comment with your blog address or just pop in and say hi.

Life is Beautiful, believe…..

  1. I have signed up for the BOM from Homestead Hearth which will start soon. What kind of floss did you use, it looks to be verigated.
    Thanks.

    • hi Cinda, thanks for joining us, yes I used a DMC variegated Garnet for the whole quilt 115, I love it for the movement it gives redwork stitcheries and use it all the time. 1 – 2 strands in this case. One for the writing and finer designs, two where it is more obvious but you will be able to tell from the close up photos of each block in the journal. have fun, Helen

  2. I love the design! I have ordered the patterns etc and now have to decide what colour fabric to use! Very excited about it all. Many thanks for this excellent design.
