Show n Tell

Here is where I will showcase your work. Many of you love to share your success (and I think you should) and many others want to see how it looks in many colourways. And to be inspired. So here are snippets of Life is Beautiful Works in progress from around the world.

I’ve sent a photo of the Life is Beautiful quilt.   So much fun to do.  My setting is different as I love putting blocks on point.   In doing so, I had to be creative and come up with 4 more blocks. Jeanie – Ye Olde Schoolhouse – www.yeoldeschoolhouse.com yeoldeschoolhouse@wi.rr.com

Jeannie is selling BOM kits and patterns for her version.

Wilma Broos (The Netherlands) has finished her Life is Beautiful quilt. She has made it a little smaller to fit the spot on her wall where she has hung it. I love the rich blue and cream colours she has used.

I finished the quilt!  I stitched the blocks with Sulky Blendables 12 wt cotton thread and attached all the circles with needleturn appliqué. Cheryl Brown, of Centerville, Utah, added custom machine quilting.

Thank you for your wonderful pattern.  It was a joy to stitch and sew.  The quilt will hang at The Buggy Barn’s annual quilt show in August.

I’m looking forward to your next project.

D is a regular stitcher of my designs and sent this lovely email in regarding the therapy of stitching. As many of you would know I am a long time believer in the fact that stitching is my and many others therapy… I have had several calls and emails like this telling me what Life is Beautiful has done for them.

I often say stitching is “cheaper than therapy”, and good for the soul.

Your “Life is Beautiful” stitchery, which I purchased recently was the perfect therapy for my mother. She went to Perth from her hometown of Sydney to see first great grandchild. However, the adventure quickly ended with urgent hospital admission, and bypass surgery. I flew over to look after her when she was discharged from hospital until safe to fly home.

She could not resist the stitchery I had traced for her – unable to concentrate on reading and restricted initially to short walks I had organised the perfect distraction and therapy – and the first panel she did was “Life is Beautiful” . She found the sentiments in the book, and presentation so wonderful and inspiring, and  they did reflect how she approaches life.  I have a feeling I will be completing the quilt part  though!
